How to Choose a DRL LED Board Replacement (2025 Guide)

How do I know my DRL board is bad?
A failing DRL LED board usually shows one of these signs:
- One side flickers or stays off while the other side works
- The DRL dims over time or goes dead intermittently
- The light comes back after the car restarts, then fails again
Step 1: Match the size and connector
The replacement board must match the original module size and connector. We develop our boards by comparing the original module size of the car, so the replacement fits the housing exactly and uses the original plug.
Step 2: Check voltage range and protection
Quality DRL boards handle a wide input voltage range and include protection against overvoltage and reverse polarity. A board with these protections is much less likely to fail again.
Step 3: Verify fitment before ordering
Use our Shop by Vehicle tool to confirm the board is verified for your exact year, make and model.
How long does the replacement take?
In most cases the swap takes 20-30 minutes. Remove the headlight or access the module, unplug the old board, plug in the new one and reinstall. No cutting or splicing is needed.
