How to Install a DRL LED Light Guide Strip (Step-by-Step)

What you will need
- DRL light guide strip matched to your vehicle
- High-temperature adhesive or the supplied clips
- Headlamp sealant (for resealing the housing)
- A fused power source or relay kit
Step 1: Open the headlamp housing
Most housings are sealed. Open them carefully following a housing-removal guide for your exact model. Work in a clean area to keep dust out of the lens.
Step 2: Route and mount the strip
Guide the flexible strip along the DRL channel or around the projector. Secure it with the supplied clips or high-temperature adhesive so it cannot move while driving.
Step 3: Wire the strip
Connect the strip to the DRL or parking light circuit, or run it with a relay to an ignition source. Always use a fused power line.
Step 4: Test before sealing
Verify the strip lights evenly on both sides before you reseal. Fix any uneven sections before closing the housing.
Step 5: Reseal and reinstall
Apply headlamp sealant around the housing seam, press it closed and reinstall. Allow the sealant to cure before washing the car.
Pro tip
Measure your lens channel first. Strips are sized per model - confirm fitment with our Shop by Vehicle tool before ordering.
